From 14 to 19 April, PARATUS was present at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) 2024 conference in Vienna, Austria. PARATUS co-organized a session on “Tools and challenges in assessing compounding and multi-hazard risk in the evolving technological landscape” on Friday 19 April together with colleagues from other European projects (The HuT Nexus Project, the MYRIAD-EU project and the MEDiate Project), with five oral presentations and five posters.

During other sessions also several presentations were given. On Tuesday 16 April PARATUS participated in a meeting with other EU projects on multi-hazard risk to discuss possibilities for collaboration, and PARATUS supported the organization of a “Workshop on rapid and open hazard assessment tools: FastFlood.org and FastSlide.org”, during which the 60 participants obtained hand-on expertise with these new software tools, that will be part of the PARATUS platform.

On Wednesday PARATUS participated in the workshop organized by the EO4MULTIHAZARDS project on “Role of Earth Observation in Multi-(Hazard-)Risk Assessment and Management”. This large international conference offered many opportunities for the exchange of information and promotion of the preliminary project results.
