On 12 and 13 June, PARATUS will be present at the 3rd International Conference Natural Hazards and Risks in a Changing World in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The event, organised by MYRIAD-EU, Risk KAN and NatRiskChange, facilitates broader exchanges between stakeholders from policy makers, scientists, practitioners, research organisations and research communities driving the discussion of – and engagement with – compound and multi-hazard risk around the world. The conference will break silos between different communities, and promote an integrated approach that is key for reducing the risks posed by natural hazards and achieving a sustainable future for society.

PARATUS will give two presentations:

  • On 12 June – 16:20: Shifting vulnerabilities, the result of multi-hazard interplay: Evidence from the floods and COVID-19 pandemic in Romania, during the session “Health and disasters” – Andra-Cosmina ALBULESCU
  • On 13 June – 10:05: Combining Impact Chains with Forensic Analysis in the analysis of compound events: insights from the Vaia windstorm case study, during the session “General advances in disaster risk science and compound climate events” – Federica ROMAGNOLI
