More on the Academy

The School will confront the pressing challenges posed by increasingly complex global hazards. By integrating the latest scientific research, innovative technological solutions, and practical disaster management strategies, the event aims to develop effective, ethical and sustainable approaches that enhance disaster resilience, considering both expert knowledge and artificial intelligence (AI) insights.

The programme will recognise the critical role of community and stakeholder engagement in formulating effective DRR strategies. It will foster a collaborative environment where local insights are merged with global expertise, thereby promoting a robust safety culture and informing sound policymaking. Through interactive sessions and hands-on workshops, participants will explore the integration of expert-driven sustainable risk mitigation actions, e.g., AI-driven recommendations in disaster management, while addressing both the ethical and practical dimensions of safety and resilience.

The Academy is supported by the Societal Resilience Cluster (SRC) within the CMINE community (https://www.cmine.eu) and is jointly organised by partners from leading Horizon Europe projects, including:

The DRR Academy 2026 follows the success of a first edition held in 2024 at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain.
