The Romania Application Case Study team, led by Prof.Dr. Iuliana Armaș (CRMD, University of Bucharest) presented results from the PARATUS Project at the joint Conference of European Safety and Reliability (ESREL) and Society for Risk Analysis Europe (SRA-E) held in Stavanger, Norway from 15 to 19 June 2025.

Their talks explored critical themes in Disaster Risk Reduction, focusing on seismic risk perception and disaster preparedness behaviour in Bucharest, systemic vulnerability as a fundamental component of systemic risk, and vulnerability dynamics in multi-hazard settings. Their findings directly feed into Bucharest’s and Romania’s recent challenges related to multi-risk management and support its update.

This research bridges the gap between science and policy-making, promoting individual preparedness and heightening community resilience.
