D1.2 Report on virtual participatory workshops in all learning and Application Case Study sites, including Impact Chains diagram

This Deliverable D1.2 focuses on the PARATUS methodology for analysing past events and understanding current risks, which leverages and combines two different methods: the Forensic Analysis and the Impact Chains. The Forensic Analysis framework was co-developed and implemented by the project consortium through a series of virtual meetings to accommodate the high heterogeneity of the different Learning Case Studies as well as to achieve a shared understanding across the interdisciplinary team. The framework provides a structure for documenting and analysing past disaster events. The output of the Forensic Analysis feeds the Impact Chains, a conceptual model for risk assessment, illustrating the relationships between hazards, exposure, vulnerability, and their cascading impacts. The Forensic Analysis provides Impact Chains with evidence, based on past disaster events and supports the identification of missing elements and connections.
For this deliverable a selection of Learning Case Studies has been conducted through a participatory prioritisation process, based on a specific criterion, while the additional Learning Cases will be available for consultation on the Disaster Risks Stakeholder Hub. The overall work has been reviewed through a meta-analysis (available in this deliverable) providing an overview on similarities across the different case studies.
